To fabricate the cast iron and aluminum relief art manhole cover, follow the steps below:
You can choose a ductile iron base (or a stainless steel or aluminum plate welded base), perform CNC relief engraving on the surface pattern, then age it or fill it with resin to make a combined manhole cover.
Preparatory Work
1. Determine the design pattern: Conceive and draw detailed patterns based on the usage scenario, cultural theme, etc. You can use computer drawing software for this purpose.
2. Prepare materials: High-quality manhole covers (make sure they meet the load-bearing requirements), environmentally friendly resin pigments, brushes, spray guns, protective paints, sandpaper, cleaning agents, masking tapes, etc.
3. Tools: Prepare various-sized syringes, brushes, rollers, spray gun equipment, etc. as painting tools.
Production Process
1. Cover Plate Treatment: Thoroughly clean the surface of the cover plate with a cleaner to remove oil stains, dust and other impurities. Then, gently sand it with sandpaper to enhance the adhesion of the paint.
2. Pattern Drawing: Print out the designed pattern and stick the outline of the pattern onto the cover plate with masking tape, or simply sketch it lightly with a pencil. Then, fill and draw the pattern in order from light to dark and from background to main body using the paint. You can use an injection gun or a spray gun to create uniform colors, and use a brush to depict details.
3. Apply Protective Paint: After the paint is completely dry, evenly apply a layer of protective paint to enhance the wear resistance and weather resistance of the pattern.
Post-maintenance
Regularly inspect the surface of the manhole covers. If any wear or fading is found, clean them promptly and repair the color.
